Dripping Irritability

Posted in Religion & Spirituality: Christianity by joeprainito on September 26th, 2008

Have you ever found yourself irritated? I know, I know that’s an obvious yes for all of us. I remember lying my head down on my pillow one night when all of a sudden I heard drip drip drip coming from the bathroom sink. That was a terrible nights sleep, but what was worst was my attitude in the situation throughout the night. I was angry, immpatient, frustrated, and quite the pill. My feelings in the situation I cant wait to hit that sink with a giant wrench tommorow, but then again we’ve all been there.

Sometimes life presents to us many oppertunities to manifest the fuit of the spirit in our lives. But when we find ourselves irritated by someone or something; well truth is we’d love to take a wrench to that person, or situation as well. The scary revelation is the attitude that is dwelling on the inside of us. Listen we need to inspect our fruit. I encourage you, learn to be patient, loving, and longsuffering. SO that when you or I hear a dripping over and again in our life, we’ll use the the fruit of the spirit to be a bright light shining the grace of God.

Keep Knocking

Posted in Religion & Spirituality: Christianity by joeprainito on September 18th, 2008

Luke 11:9 tells us that there is great reward when we are persistant in our prayer’s. The scripture likens our prayers to a persistant person knocking on the door of his neighbor. This person will not leave untill their friend opens the door. Well, a few weeks, someone was knocking on my homes door at about 10:30pm, and just would not leave untill, someone opened the door. The only problem was that I wasnt home at the time, so of course this left my wife and kids a little scared. I rolled into the driveway just in time to meet this man and let him know that he was in the wrong place; still I was facinated with this mans persistance in continuously knocking and ringing the doorbell. Scripture tells us that we should be as persistant in our prayers. I encourage you to keep on knocking on the door of the Lord, and not only will he open the door, but you will have fellowship with the God of the universe.

Helicopter Lights

Posted in Religion & Spirituality: Christianity by joeprainito on September 11th, 2008

A few months back I recieved a telephone call late at night informing me that a man being chased on foot had jumped my fence, and was in my backyard. three minutes later a helicopter was flying overhead; peering into my backyard to see if indeed the man was still back there. I found myself a little embarassed, because though there was no man to see, there was a pile of weeds, and a big yard full of junk and dirt. I’ve since bagan a little clean up, because I never know when the Helicopter will be back to take a look.

You know, sometimes in life it’s easy to keep things hidden from plain sight. Our life looks so good from the front yard, but behind closed doors, it’s a different story. Sin can find itself comfortably residing behind the closed doors of our life, but beware, the helicopter can come at anytime to shine a light on the mess that has been hidden for so long. Clean up your life so that you can be truly pleasing to the Lord in all areas of your life; because though the neighbors may not know whats in your back yard; the Lord has a clear view.

They called me Bubbles (drop the weight)

Posted in Religion & Spirituality: Christianity by joeprainito on September 4th, 2008

Growing up wasn’t always the easiest. I weighed about 195 Lbs in the sixth grade, and thus inherited the title “Bubbles”. But the day that I found myself too heavy to climb up the end of a rope, was the day I made the decision to drop the weight. I really wanted to climb this rope, and have the strength to do so, however the excess weight around my mid area, had to go. I placed myself on a diet and six months later, i was a lean cuisine; we’ll I was lean to say the least.

Sometimes in our life we find ourselves weighed down, and unable to manage our life, take care of our families, or our responsibilities. There is so much that we’d love to accomplish but the weight of sin, offences, and past failures makes it so difficult to pursue future dreams, and goals; so we give up. Listen, its time to drop the weight. Hebrews 12:1 says to lay aside the weight which easily ensnares us, so that we can run this race with endurance. So I encourage you throw it off, and run this race with confidence in Christ.
