How Rude
Posted in Religion & Spirituality: Christianity by joeprainito on February 6th, 2009 I’ve noticed that there are two kinds of people who usually attend the movie theatre; the one who doesn’t care if they disturb others, and then there’s the one who gets really irritated by them. Chomping popcorn, opening plastic packages, and cell phone calls during a movie can really get under someone’s skin, but likewise yelling and picking fights as a result can equally pose a problem. I know I know, you’re wondering where I’m going with this. Listen, as Christians we’re to be courteous and loving to those around us. We’re to shine a love that is long suffering, a love that is patient. But a bad experience in a public place, like a movie theartre, may very well test your love and courtesy for others.
Titus 3:2 says to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate and show true humility toward all men.
So listen, next time you feel the need to slurp, crunch, and belch loudly in the theater, think first about those around you. And to those of you who would really like to pick a fight with those who are inconsiderate; slow down and think about the God in whom you represent. We need to demonstrate Christ’s love wherever we’re at; even in the movie theater.
